ACN's 3G Network
ACN uses the Optus 3G network, which covers 97%^ of where Australians work, live and play. So you can email your boss in Melbourne, or make a video call from the Sunshine Coast to a loved one in Hobart, download music on the beach in Perth, or get directions quickly for navigating country roads or city streets.

ACN’s mobile coverage is always improving!
Over the past 3 years, $1.6 billion has been invested in the Optus network to increase speed, reach and capacity, and the Optus 3G Dual Band* network development program will continue add network capacity and deliver improved 3G signals in more places over the coming months. This means a stronger network connection with fewer dropped calls, better in-building coverage and improved voice quality in metropolitan cities.
The Optus 3G Dual Band program has commenced in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth metropolitan locations, with other capital cities to follow. Select from the cities below to see where new sites will be rolled out in the coming months.

3G Dual Band (900/2100MHz) Handsets
Ideal for metropolitan and regional coverage
The Optus 3G Network uses both UMTS 2100MHz and 900MHz spectrum bands reaching 97%^ of the Australian population. The advantage of the 900MHz spectrum band is its ability to travel further from a single base station, which makes it well suited to deliver mobile services to regional areas of Australia.
To access the wider regional coverage provided by the 900MHz frequency, you can select from a range of great dual band mobile phones – just look for our 3G Dual Band or 3G Dual Band Fast HSDPA symbols.
3G (2100MHz) Handsets
Ideal for metropolitan coverage
The 2100MHz frequency reaches 80% of the Australian population. It is available in all Australian capital cities and selected major regional centres. It is designed to provide excellent coverage and data speeds in busy, built-up areas.
There are a wide range of 3G 2100MHz handsets available to suit your mobile voice and data requirements. These are identified by the 3G or 3G Fast HSDPA symbols.
When using a 3G/2100MHz handset outside 2100MHz Network areas, you will roam seamlessly on to the Optus 2.5G network and be able to make voice calls, send SMS and MMS, and access data services at a reduced speed.
It is recommended that customers wishing to access high speed data services in regional areas upgrade to a 3G Dual Band mobile phone.
Important information:

* ACN Mobile is a 3G service. Some of the features of some handsets may be limited or not supported on our network. 3G/HSPA service is only available with a 3G/HSDPA compatible handset or device, an ACN 3G SIM card and you must be in an Optus 3G or HSDPA coverage area. 3G service in 900MHz coverage areas requires a dual-band (900/2100MHz) handset or device. Outside of 3G areas service will fall back to GSM/GPRS and 3G services will not be available.
